My goal is to help you better understand yourself and reach a place of peace and increased
life
satisfaction.
Now accepting new clients for Telehealth (Virtual) sessions and In Person sessions. Hello! My approach is to provide a non-judgmental and caring place to allow you a positive counseling experience. Many people who I treat seek counseling for the first time -- to work through a crisis--to stop the pain--to feel better about themselves. I understand the struggle and the desire to feel and be better. If you are willing to share your story and engage in the process, I look forward to working with you. I have 20 years of experience working with adolescents, college-age students, student athletes and adults in crisis.

Life
is full of chaos and uncertainty right now. It may have brought you anxiety, worries, sadness and grief. You may have had to deal with many
life
changes, ones that you want and ones that you don't want. It makes sense to feel off, overwhelmed, and like you lost your footing. We all need a safe space to process our experience and take a moment to breathe, regroup and learn how to adapt to
life
’s challenges. Clients come to me to feel seen, heard and sort through what is happening for them. They have overcome challenges in
life
and now want to find peace and healing. They want to be confident, calm, and true to themselves.

My goal is to support you in moving toward a
life
you love.
I believe within each of us is a powerful energy we can use to expand our lives. In moving beyond our limiting beliefs and the places where we get stuck, we open to our potential. Learning to manage our thoughts and emotions consciously, from a place of alignment with our values, allows us to identify and express the best version of us more consistently. It is just a matter of time before our external world begins reflecting these internal changes.

My work as a psychotherapist is rooted in a profound belief that by recognizing and honoring our complex, messy
life
stories with honesty and gentleness, we lay the foundation to heal the obstacles preventing us from building fulfilling, meaningful lives. Throughout
life
, we all create narratives about ourselves to help us survive. These narratives are shaped by myriad factors (individual
life
experiences, relationships, intergenerational legacies, and experiences of oppression/privilege, belonging/rejection, among others). Over time, our narratives and coping mechanisms fall short. We wonder, what went wrong? What's wrong with me?

life
well? Maybe you are a mother, a couple, or someone in a
life
transition where you feel you have lost a sense of self?! If this at all sounds like you, it’s time to change this narrative and start giving back to yourself. Together, we'll discover the resources you've had within you all along!

Life
is also great training.
Are you overwhelmed and exhausted? Have you lost interest in people and activities you used to enjoy? Feeling sad or anxious? Is it difficult to think clearly, make decisions, feel positive about the future? For many stress, depression and panic have become a way of
life
. Somehow we end up on autopilot, disappointed, nervous and disillusioned, feeling like we have no choice. Work can become more and more demanding but less and less rewarding. Relationships can become strained or unfulfilling. We can feel helpless and hopeless. You are not the only one!

Welcome! I specialize in helping individuals with anxiety-related problems (including panic, specific fears and general anxiety), those who've suffered traumatic losses or are experiencing
life
transitions (such as divorce, job loss, military discharge, illness or retirement). I bring 20 years of experience and skills to my work but also know it's the relationship with each client - the caring, trust and collaboration - that is key to recovery and personal growth. Many people prefer to contact me at first by email and we may email several times before you decide to schedule an appointment. That's fine.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
