I have always gained great satisfaction from helping people feel happier and in learning more effective ways to achieve more fulfilling lives. Those clients who are eager and open to learning more about themselves in order to achieve these goals benefit most from my approach as a therapist. I often focus, therefore, on insight, meaning, and symbols (including dream interpretation)in order to help clients establish a more positive and accepting perspective of themselves and others. In therapy, I work with obstacles against achieving these goals that include anxiety, depression, addictions, anger, and interpersonal and relationship issues.

I'm a clinical psychologist with 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults. My approach to therapy is centered on building a trusting, friendly, open and accepting environment where individuals and families feel safe to collaboratively work to create positive change in their lives.

During my 20 plus years as a therapist I have enjoyed working clinically with adults, adolescents, children, couples and families. Over the years I have learned that the single most important aspect to productive therapy is having a trusting, empathic connection with your therapist. My name is Dr. Susan D'Ambrosio and I primarily treat adults with mood and anxiety disorders, in addition to relationship problems. I also treat adolescents in my practice. My approach to treatment is collaborative and I help patients work toward goals they would like to achieve. Sessions are 45 minutes long and the frequency is determined based on what the patient needs. My approach to treatment is eclectic, i.e. I suit the intervention to what is appropriate for each individual patient.
