Specializing in sexual and physical abuse, I have come to know, through a loving, therapeutic relationship we can and do heal! Trauma work is meeting grief where it impacts us today, creating a holding environment to explore safely our thoughts and feelings.
"You are doing the very best you can!" We enter adulthood with a lifetime of experiences-both positive and negative. Is today feeling like a replay of past trauma, relationships struggling, parenting making you feel like a failure, while the voice in your head says, "I am not enough?" My practice is based on the beliefs, “it is never too late” and “we each have infinite worth.” The quality of our early relationship with our caregivers, repeats without our awareness. Our past need not define our present. You are worthy of finding comfort within a secure, therapeutic relationship. Together we can explore and discover healing.

I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss , interpersonal issues, and the effects of trauma and substance use.
Our lives are composed of many pieces, stages of growth and change. And life happens! How do we gather these experiences and make sense of them among stresses and challenges, confusing times and changing perspectives? By working together in a supportive and collaborative environment, I will help you to discover meanings and solutions to integrate these elements into a satisfying whole. We create many identities along the path to wholeness; I welcome the opportunity to work alongside you.

Life is full of chaos and uncertainty right now. It may have brought you anxiety, worries, sadness and grief . You may have had to deal with many life changes, ones that you want and ones that you don't want. It makes sense to feel off, overwhelmed, and like you lost your footing. We all need a safe space to process our experience and take a moment to breathe, regroup and learn how to adapt to life’s challenges. Clients come to me to feel seen, heard and sort through what is happening for them. They have overcome challenges in life and now want to find peace and healing. They want to be confident, calm, and true to themselves.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
