Trained in Germany and in the United States I have been able to learn from both academic and cultural traditions. Psycho-dynamic, Gestalt, Solution-focused and other approaches in Psychology led me to understand our emotional life as a strong and resilient force. This force is leading us - sometimes unnoticed - to new beginnings; we resist what is destructive and we heal at the same time.

(At this time I am taking new clients via telehealth or by phone. ) Each one of us has our own personal story, interwoven with the joys and sadness of life. Every client I work with I believe walks through my door so that together we can work on navigating issues, gaining skills and understanding of what they wish to change in their lives. Sometimes it is a subtle change one is looking for, or at other times it is a life changing event that propels us to seek help. Whatever the reason I am here to help people find the change they seek.

I look forward to assisting you through the challenges of life and creating a happier and more empowered tomorrow. I often tell clients we all have 'junk in the trunk', it's often the junk we have not dealt with or avoid that sneaks up on us when we least expect it. It complicates this already complicated thing call 'life'. Let me help you unpack the junk, explore its impact on you and how its impact continues to effect you. Through supportive counseling you can take back the reigns and create positive change.

The choice to begin therapy is often laden with emotions and questions. From this initial decision process to later stages, I bring warmth and a strong skill set to every person and couple I treat. I strive to provide an accepting environment to explore your problems and gradually work through them, finding a stronger sense of self. I focus on connecting current problems to old patterns, finding meaning in symptoms and identifying realistic approaches to change. The approach I use is highly collaborative and will be tailored to suit your needs.

One of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Are you struggling just to get out of bed each morning? Life just feels so full of anxiety and worry, by the end of the day you are left overwhelmed and exhausted. Is every happy moment overshadowed by depression, leaving you feeling like you are missing out on all the important little things in life? I understand the feeling of hopelessness, that nothing will ever get better. If you or your loved one are struggling and on the verge of giving up, it's time for a real change. Happiness is possible, and I would love to illuminate your path to self-discovery.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for an Essex ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in Essex.
