I understand that we can benefit from help if we feel stuck, overwhelmed or not sure where to turn. Sometimes people get stuck in patterns that may have been helpful but have become limiting or even destructive. I believe therapy can provide deep healing which allows for greater flexibility, ease, self knowledge and enjoyment of life. With 20+ years of experience, I have been successful in helping my clients through depression, substance abuse, anxiety, panic and grief and loss or just gaining more satisfaction with their lives. It has been an honor for me to do this.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel aligned with who you are? Many of my clients are insightful, sensitive, and capable, yet struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment wounds, ADHD, or relationship challenges. You may be used to caring for others, masking your needs, or pushing through instead of feeling supported. You’re looking for therapy that feels safe, real, and validating — not judgmental or distant — and you want to better understand yourself, your emotions, and your relationships.

You're the one everyone counts on: steady, capable, and exhausted. You show up, get things done, and keep going, even when your mind is buzzing and your chest feels tight. The anxiety, racing thoughts, and pressure to hold it all together are wearing you down. You’re ready to feel like yourself again, but not sure where to start. I help sensitive, anxious adults slow down, reconnect to their calm, and finally breathe again. Together, we create space for healing through grounded, compassionate therapy that blends therapy and coping skills.

On our path in life we all go through times of struggle. Sometimes from unresolved past issues or problems in the present for which we need guidance. I believe we can learn to know ourselves and move through difficulties when we have support from a trusted individual to process with. I work in collaboration with clients to build on natural strengths, while addressing barriers to progress, so they can move toward their goals. I strive to create an emotionally supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to share their stories and create insight for action and growth.

Press pause on everyday demands and focus fully on yourself with an EMDR intensive. Intensive EMDR allows you to work at depth and address the root causes of stress, trauma, anxiety, or overwhelm—often in far fewer sessions than standard weekly therapy. I offer half-day formats (2–6 sessions) as well as 3–5 day “life review and reset” experiences designed to create meaningful change in a short period of time. Clients often walk away with greater clarity, emotional relief, and a renewed sense of confidence and calm and can travel from any state to CT for this work together.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
