My brand of therapy is all about real human connection. Need a hype girl or a cheerleader, I'm on it. Need some tough love and honesty, also there. Just need a listening ear and some reassurance that you aren't alone on this wild ride of a planet, yeah, I get it. Therapy should be about YOU. No AI, no filters, just us sharing space for all that spins your world. Very happily queer and nontraditional relationship friendly! Yes, that's a nod to you, ENM folks. Currently, I am currently open to new clients and am in network with Aetna, Optum (Connecticare, United, and Oxford), and Husky. OON friendly.

Most of my clients are seeking more than a place to "vent"—they are looking for a unique therapeutic experience that leads to real change. They don't want more validation; they want a clear path to creating a life they love. Whether you’re balancing an ambitious career, dedicated to full-time motherhood, the "default parent", or navigating infertility, you’re likely tired of managing the invisible load on your own. You’ve poured everything you have into your relationships and career, yet you still feel unfulfilled. Let's change that. My work uses the therapeutic relationship as the primary force in transformational change.

There are times in our lives when we don't know what is wrong; just that something is. We wonder if we are "crazy" and are scared to be judged if we ask for help. The truth is that very sane people struggle when the difficulties in their lives outpace their coping skills. I've been a therapist for 18 years and believe strongly that healing comes through connection with others. As we increase our knowledge, we become healthier and more resilient when approaching future problems. It is an honor to work alongside people as they discover hidden strengths and resources.

I believe that the single most important component of the treatment process is the therapeutic relationship. It develops over time as a product of trust in the therapist and feeling like you have been heard. It is the vehicle by which change comes about and the connection of feelings with thought gets translated into action.

I specialize in the areas of substance abuse, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, schizophrenia, trauma and co-occurring disorders.
The most important piece to having a successful therapeutic experience is the therapeutic alliance. With almost 20 years of experience, working with adults and adolescents I have learned that the approach I take with the person(s) I am working with depends on their own specific personality, history, culture, current life stressors and what they are looking to achieve by seeking therapeutic services.

Starting therapy is not easy. But neither is living the life of disappointments and regrets. If you feel you are in a dead end, if your job is boring and ungratifying and the relationships are toxic or lack depth and zest, if you struggle with finding your place in this world or even question whether life is worth living, perhaps it is time to examine your life choices and remove the blocks that hold you from finding meaning, happiness, and purpose. I practice psychotherapy that is informed by the traditions of psychoanalysis and look at each individual in the context of this person's unique experiences and unique life story.

I help with psychosis, personality disorders, relationship challenges, trauma, and mood concerns using MERIT therapy.
You're dealing with anxiety that won't quit, depression that makes everything feel heavy, or relationship patterns that leave you feeling misunderstood. Maybe you're also experiencing voices or unusual perceptions that feel isolating, navigating systems that weren't built for you, or questioning a diagnosis that doesn't capture your full experience. Perhaps what you want is genuine understanding from someone who won't pathologize your curiosity about yourself. Your goal isn't just symptom relief, you want to explore your inner world, understand how your mind works and use this understanding to respond to everyday challenges.

Psychosis Therapists
What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.

When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.

What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.

How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
