Children experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression and other challenges communicate with us through their behaviors. I specialize in helping parents and children understand the meaning and purpose behind those behaviors. I help children build the resiliency they need to overcome past challenges and thrive at home, in school and in their communities. I also help parents/caregivers build the skills and strategies necessary to guide children through difficult circumstances and achieve a more positive future.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailoring my approach based on individual needs. I match the child's symptoms, developmental needs and natural learnings with appropriate treatment goals to develop the most helpful interventions.
In addition to play therapy, I offer AutPlay® Therapy and Animal Assisted Play Therapy. AutPlay is a play and behavioral therapy approach to working with children and families affected by autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
