I am a Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience working with women, children & families in Wayne County, Michigan. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family Life Education (Spring Arbor University) and earned my Master's degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. At the Lilith Center for Women, I specialize in women's health, body positivity, parenting issues, depression, anxiety, perinatal mood disorders, domestic violence and PTSD/trauma. I only see women & girls (12+). My practice is exclusively virtual.
I work with women of all ages. I am a very caring, empathetic person. I utilize a strengths-based, humanistic approach to therapy. I primarily work with feminist theory as it relates to women's health & trauma. I look to a wide variety of interpersonal therapeutic approaches & interventions that would best be described as "eclectic."
Much of my approach to therapy is simply holding space to remind people that we are all human beings with a need to be seen and heard. By having a supportive, healing environment in which to share your truth, you will find that you can identify issues/stressors, verbalize your thoughts and feelings, and eventually, learn to regulate your emotions.

For symptoms of depression and anxiety, I will start with a screening tool to determine the severity of your symptoms. I will provide information/education and coping skills and we will discuss future needs based on the severity of your symptoms. Most patients are initially seen weekly (transitioning to every other week) and should see a gradual lifting of symptoms within one to two months.
