My name is Cristy Carter, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Profession (CCATP). I work with adults via telehealth and specialize in anxiety, addiction, and trauma. I utilize several treatment methodologies, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focus. I have extensive experience working with individuals who are suffering from anxiety, panic, substance use disorders, and trauma.
I have a chameleon like personality. If a client prefers a professional experience, I follow suit. If a client prefers a laid back, loose experience, I provide this as well. I tailor my approach to treatment based on the needs of the client. I have experiences with many approaches and clients have various needs which are addressed in different ways.
I will always ask a client what their goals are. There may be times when it's difficult to identify a goal when we are feeling chaos. So, I will use the client's words to help us identify goals together. The client leads the way and I follow. We may identify goals, or we may spend the full-time processing.
