"Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness." - Peter A. Levine. It is my firm belief that everyone needs a safe place to explore, grow & heal in the presence of another and I consider it an honor to provide such a space day after day to my clients. Trauma recovery is my specialty and use EMDR or A.R.T to facilitate recovery. Many clients may not remember certain times in their lives but believe something may have happened. This is called dissociative trauma.

I take a 3 phase approach; safety & stabilization, remembrance & mourning, reconnection & integration. Many clients may have trauma that happened before they were able to effectively communicate, called preverbal trauma, and it is not uncommon for me to use expressive arts therapy at that time.

Trauma recovery comes bundled in a variety of issues. It will be an honor to walk alongside you as you work through boundary issues, codependency, marital issues, family problems, & a variety of addictions. I would love to speak to you if you are interested in receiving a complimentary phone consultation.

As a marriage and family specialist, Josh has been able to help both children and families find healing in transition. I've worked alongside him successfully treating families on a treatment team at Esperance Counseling. During that time I learned a lot from Josh. In many ways during that season he became a mentor to me as I learned about the field. I am forever grateful for his expertise and skill. I still regularly refer clients to him!

Rafa has such a unique presence. I would venture to say he has a gift of being an intuitive healer. I've watched him work masterfully with couples and he has also done amazing work with adult individuals. He's kind, genuinely caring, and very calming. He's witty and honest with a zest for life. I'm happy to call him both friend and colleague!
