Have you ever experienced stress about making a decision/transition? Perhaps you are experiencing this right now. Oftentimes, we experience stress when making decisions due to our past or the unknown. As a Latina, I recognize that talking about our thoughts and feelings is not always safe or welcomed. Connecting to mental health counseling is still stigmatized within our community. We are often told “no pasa nada”, this thinking leads us to suppress our feelings which contributes to added stress. However, if we do not let go of stress or process past trauma, how can we live our best life right now?
As a therapist I have a trauma informed lens. I am an empathic listener and good communicator. I adapt my therapeutic approach based on your needs. I specialize working with individuals experiencing stress, anxious feelings, grief/ loss, and with survivors of intimate partner violence, male and female. I offer counseling services in English and Spanish.
Being vulnerable with family often comes with a high price of judgment and guilt. Guilt that our experiences are not as challenging as they were “back in the day”. Shame for feeling physically tired and emotionally drained of taking care of our homes, partners, families and professional responsibilities. I look forward to connecting with you.
