Cristhian is a Licensed Professional Counselor that has served adults, children, youth, and their families for over 15 years. A native of Chile, he obtained his Masters in Counseling Psychology at Temple University and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Early in his career in urban youth ministry and later as a Clinical Supervisor in school based mental health, Cristhian developed a deep understanding of what motivates people to learn and grow. His understanding of human development and attachment theories serves as the underpinning for his work with children, youth and adults.
In addition to having a general practice focusing on developmental disorders, depression, anxiety, existential angst, intimacy challenges and managing stress, Cristhian can guide individuals and families through parenting education, attachment disruption adoption-foster care-blended families etc. , as well as immigration and acculturation challenges.
Lately he has trained and is pursuing certification as an IFS therapist which is a non-pathologizing approach to understanding, relating and healing controlling, angry, over-reactive, impulsive, compulsive, hypervigilant, critical, ashamed and shaming internal parts among many others.
