I'm Crisol Carter. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and North Carolina. I have 6+ years of experience as a trauma therapist, supporting children, adolescents, and young adults through traumatic experiences. I help individuals understand their trauma symptoms and learn tools to utilize in their daily lives to achieve stability. I believe that a DSM diagnosis helps organize symptoms and guides treatment. However, it doesn't always explain why those symptoms are there. As a trauma therapist, I utilize compassion and empathy to understand the whole person and their story.
I typically work with clients in adolescence (12+) and into young adulthood (25). I've worked with a scope of conditions such as adjustment disorder, anxiety, bipolar, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and co-occurring diagnoses. In my work, I have experience working with children involved in the foster care system and families who need support.
I am interested in advancing science and practice for children and families. I am involved in promoting safety and well-being for adolescents, young adults, and communities through education, grant writing, research, and therapy. My career as a therapist is very fulfilling as I can help my clients find stability through my work.
