My unique approach to counseling utilizes play therapy techniques, art, walking, and coaching as avenues of self-exploration, discovery, expression, confidence, and growth! I provide a safe, supportive, creative, and non-clinical environment to help your child build trust, gain hope, feel understood, positively connect, and identify and express thoughts and emotions!
I utilize both play and art to help kids express themselves when they may not have the verbal language to do so. I provide virtual confidence coaching and social skills training to foster confidence and improve social skills. Walk and talk sessions are provided since movement can play a powerful role in emotional expression and self regulation.
Through my creative process, I will focus on your child's strengths and needs, while helping them develop coping strategies, manage behaviors, explore their beliefs, express thoughts and feelings, increase self-esteem, and discover creative solutions to problems. Groups
Social Skills Group
This group provides kids with opportunities to positively interact and relate with other kids, improve social skills, boost self-esteem, learn to problem solve, feel empowered, enhance creativity, and manage behaviors and emotions. Each group will focus on a specific social skill from the areas of classroom survival, friendship making, dealing with feelings, alternatives to aggression, and dealing with stress. Discussion of skill steps, modeling of the skill, and role plays will be implemented. A creative art activity will also be utilized each group that focuses on expressing thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to the skill.
