At Creating Pathways Counseling, we focus on nurturing and growing mental and emotional health through a variety of therapy modalities beyond talk. Our team is different because we don't expect you to begin with your story. We are trained to begin where you are, whether this is your first time in counseling, if you're coming back after a break (welcome back!) or you are a consistent partner on your healing journey and looking for something different, something that feels like change. This is your path and we are honored to be part of your journey. Our team is trained to support you every step of the way.

I am a somatic therapist (trauma tells its story through the body) and utilize a mix of therapies including play therapy, sand tray, EMDR, expressive arts, movement and meditation. SomaticPlay(TM) is a way to process and heal from trauma without having to go back into the event and risk being retraumatized. I specialize in treating trauma and the disorders that present with acute trauma and PTSD, such as dissociation, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief and loss, and self-injury. Together we make incremental changes that adds up to a new way to see yourself, your life and every new day.

How often do you get to share what's on your mind without fears of judgment, damage to relationships, or raising concern? For many, therapy offers freedom from these fears for the first time in their life. Whether you're having concerns about work, school, relationships, or the state of the world, we can process them together. I believe that you are the expert of your own story. For many of us in the LGBTQIA+, Kink, and CNM communities, there is an understandable need to find affirming care. In my practice, I strongly believe you shouldn't have to explain the basics of your identities to your therapist.
