Finding the right therapist can be tough. I've worked with clients that thought they were too "crazy" to be helped and others that were dismissive of their own concerns, thinking their problems weren't important enough to warrant support. Everybody deserves support and to find a therapist that really "gets" them.
The bulk of my career has been working with clients presenting with co-occurring issues including substance use, anxiety, trauma, depression, and bipolar. As a former clinical director, I've managed various levels of care (residential, outpatient) and gained expertise in assessing the correct intensity of care for clients.
I'm happy to see a cultural shift in our view of mental health over the past 3 decades. I want a society that views mental health as just another aspect of comprehensive wellness. I'm a client-centered therapist and value humor and authenticity in my approach.
