The 14-year-old who used to laugh at the dinner table and now eats in their room. The 16-year-old whose grades are quietly slipping and won't say why. The whole household walking on eggshells around one person's mood. Adolescence is supposed to be hard — but it's not supposed to feel like this. I work with teens and their families on anxiety, ADHD, depression, and the conflict, withdrawal, and overwhelm that tend to come with them. My role is to help your teen feel actually heard, and to help your family find a way forward that doesn't run through more shouting matches or silent dinners.
Sessions with teens are real conversations, not lectures — I work to be someone they don't have to perform for. With families, the work is often translation: helping parents understand what's underneath the door slam, and helping teens see that their parents aren't the enemy. I draw on CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused approaches.
