I'm a mental health counselor who works with adults and adolescents, especially people who have a hard time managing their anger. Anger is an emotion many people have never been given permission to really feel, and an emotion many people have not been taught how to feel. My job is to help you make space for it, work through it, and figure out what to do with it when it shows up.
I like to meet people where they are. That means starting from where you actually are — not where you think you should be — and helping you move toward what matters to you.
I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Compassion Focused Therapy — which in practice means a lot of curiosity, metaphor, and helping you connect with what's actually important to you. I don't think anything is "wrong" with you. I think you're doing the best you can with what you have.
The name of my practice, Nothing New Under the Sun, comes from the idea that the pain and struggle we all experience as humans has existed before us. There is shared wisdom about how to get through it. This is simply our time to live it and work through it together.
Sessions are available in person in Catonsville and via telehealth throughout Maryland.
