My practice centers around building relationships and learning how to take care of ourselves and others. I find that people come to therapy hoping to find someone to tell them the answers, and my goal is to help people become of aware of the answers they already have: I am not the expert, you are. My practice is based in attachment theory and trauma recovery, helping people understand the physiological and developmental processes behind their behaviors, and guiding people towards lasting change while providing a caring and compassionate place to heal.
I graduated from UW-Whitewater with an MS in Community Counseling and I have advanced training in Trauma Recovery and Substance Abuse. I also completed the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University Michigan and I am an AASECT-certified sex therapist. I have recently completed Level II training in EMDR and I have training in Music Imagery.
I am very creative and I use an eclectic variety of processes to build the therapeutic relationship:I see the relationship that we will be build together as vitally important to the healing process. I see our work together as a collaborative effort from a humanist, non-judgmental perspective.
