Resiliency...this is the most powerful quality of the human spirit. I work with clients to help them realize and expand upon this quality. I have been in the mental health field since 1998. My career has given me the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in every imaginable setting (e.g., private practice, clinics, inpatient, outpatient, outdoor therapy, HIV/AIDS, incarceration, foster care, addiction). My education, clients, and experiences have given me a wealth of understanding that I am thankful to be able to bring into my private practice.
I have a strong client-centered approach in all of my work. This means that I believe that we are all capable of healing and growth and finding our highest purpose. We all have a story to tell. And there is great healing in telling our stories in a safe space. We all need to be seen, heard, understood, encouraged, and supported.
So often it is suffering that pushes us to reach out for help. We experience depression and anxiety and grief, and feel alone in this struggle. Therapy is a way of connecting with someone who can support you in these difficult times and help you find ways of coping that lead to growth, insight, and understanding. You do not have to walk this journey alone.
