Hello! I am Courtney Uppendahl and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Therapy is a collaborative journey. I believe in holding space for your story while we work together on achieving your goals. My approach combines an empathic client-centered outlook, informed by research and various evidence-based practices, to help clients feel validated and empowered as they work towards their goals. I truly enjoy helping individuals through their everyday challenges, childhood memories, trauma, parenting, and life transitions.
I have specialized training in treating trauma and perinatal mental health issues. The clients I work with in my practice come from all backgrounds and experiences, and I am skilled in adapting to each client and the uniqueness they bring to treatment.
I initially wanted to be a teacher when I was beginning college, and I had an opportunity to experience a classroom setting with young children. I quickly recognized a need for social and emotional support for those young learners, and this led me to look into becoming a therapist.
