We carry expectations of what our path to parenthood will look like. We dream of baby bumps, nursery decor and tiny hands in ours. The journey often isn’t so straightforward and we can feel blindsided when unexpected challenges arise. We’re then left to grapple with feelings like uncertainty, despair, exhaustion, and powerlessness, all while trying to still balance life’s other demands. I have worked with families for over 12 years, supporting both children and adults. I have a passion for, and am trained in, perinatal mental health. This encompasses the pregnancy and postpartum periods. Over and over I have seen the importance of the child-caretaker relationships, especially in working within the child welfare and school systems.
Nearly all individuals face difficulties during periods of major life events and changes. I’m here to let you know that you are not alone and there is hope ahead.
