Hello. My name is Courtney Carter. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in supporting young adults, professional women, and African American families and individuals with mental health support, behavioral/emotional concerns, and with professionals making career and educational changes. My approach is described as "inspiring others", "coaching" and "motivating" but I am also able to provide a safe open space to support with self-guidance. I enjoy supporting African American women professionals who need support with managing the emotional stress of making career and educational decisions.
I also enjoy working with young adults with transitioning from being dependent to becoming independent. My main focus is on treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, high levels of stress, mood swings, phobias, panic, and anger.
Based on your preference, I can create a structured, school-like atmosphere or a relaxed, calming space depending on your needs. Some clients want to feel secure with a structured agenda and some want a free-form place to explore their feelings. I can create both environments.
