Hi there! My name is Courtney Carlson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have been providing mental health services since 2016. I work with young adults and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, stress management, and emotional dysregulation. I utilize CBT, DBT skills, family systems, solution-focused, humanistic/person-centered approach in my case conceptualization and interventions. Three words to describe my communication style would be genuine, warm, and humorous. Clients have often remarked on my ability to help them feel comfortable and safe within session.
I enjoy working with transitional-age youth (18-24) and adults. I typically work with helping clients manage anxiety, depression, and stress, improving coping skills, processing life transitions, improving relationships and communication skills, and improving emotional regulation.
I became interested in becoming a therapist as a teenager after witnessing the transformative and positive impacts it can have on people's lives. I am passionate about supporting others in their journey to overcome life obstacles and reach their highest potential.
