Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and burnt out? Are you struggling to connect with your romantic partner. Maybe you've experienced heartbreaking loss, or are trying to find the ground beneath you after you or a loved one have received news of a difficult diagnosis. If so, I'm glad our paths have crossed. I enjoy working with motivated adults - including new parents, young adults, couples, medical and mental health professionals, and caregivers - who are faced with life transition-related challenges, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, new diagnosis, and trauma.

That's why the relationship is so important, it's easier to be vulnerable with someone you trust.
I realize choosing a therapist can seem overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be an anxiety inducing experience. One of the most important things to consider when choosing a therapist is the therapeutic relationship. That may seem obvious, but research shows that the relationship is just as important, if not more important, than the techniques used. That's why finding someone you click with is significant in your journey. I treat the relationship with care, building trust, respect, and understanding, but I will also challenge you in sessions because life isn't always easy so therapy won't always feel easy either.

I enjoy working with couples and families to promote empathy and reconstructing thought processes when unpacking relational and environmental stressors.
Com’on let’s be honest .... relationships can be stressful! Some of us might decide to suffer in silence, share details with people who don't support us in healthy ways, or even force ourselves to "accommodate" our partner's needs without being poured into. We can't expect for relationships to become healthy again if we continue with the same attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors when engaging with our loved ones. That's why I'm here; to break up the monotonous routines and to encourage engagement in the use of tools WORTH trying! You can do all things through Christ who strengths you!

Whether you are seeking therapy for stress management, identity crises and confusion, anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges, I emphasize creating a safe, open, and collaborative therapeutic space where you feel valued, respected, and supported.
All of us face painful and challenging experiences at some point in our journey. And sometimes, we need extra support to move through the struggles, to grow, to heal, to learn and unlearn, and to find peace and harmony again. I am passionate about walking alongside you through the ebb and flow of life, as you process pain and trauma, relationship strain, grief and loss, and other hardships that accompany living. A central part of my practice is to provide support and encouragement in these moments while also helping you to move toward greater clarity, calm, and well-being.

I believe people seek out counseling for one of two reasons. First, they find themselves in a crisis situation with their life out of balance. This may be due to the discomfort of anxiety or depression, an out of control addiction, the stress of an unsatisfying relationship, a child who is struggling or the heartache of grief. Secondly, their life may be in balance but they are at a decision point or feel a need for self-improvement including career concerns, a desire to improve a relationship or a need to explore obtaining their fullest potential. Both are equally valid reasons to seek the assistance of a caring professional.

We will build a therapeutic relationship together that meets you where you are at and gives you space to be your authentic self.
It takes courage and strength to seek out support during difficult times. Life can be stressful, scary and complicated. Our society puts pressure on us to fit into a mold that can leave us feeling overwhelmed and helpless. We all internalize messages from our peers, family, and the media. Healing happens when we invest in the messages that empower us and challenge the ones that reduce us. Practicing this builds feelings of wholeness, peace, and contentment. If you want to heal but have a hard time figuring out where to start, therapy provides a safe space to support you on this journey.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
