I’m particularly passionate about working individuals, couples and creatives, specializing in trauma, racial identity development, social anxiety, and self worth.
Are there parts of your story you wish you could forget? Do you feel like no matter how much you try, you’re never enough? Does your anxiety, shame, and trauma feel crippling? This is a painful place to be, but you don’t have to do this alone. I provide an exploratory space where you can unpack and heal from some of the most difficult parts of your story. As a black, male therapist, I understand how your background and unique context impacts your life. As we explore your story, I’ll help you move from trauma to healing, shame to self-compassion, and anxiety to freedom.

Living well is an extremely difficult affair. Whether a hard relationship, a traumatic event, or a rough season of life that makes little sense - there is hope. As a lover of stories, I have found that the most potent ones often lie buried beneath layers of pain, guilt, and shame, where they subconsciously influence the way we think, feel, and connect with others. The process of healing can only begin as we tell the very stories that bring us pain and choose to love the parts of ourselves that may seem most frightening. Whatever you're facing, I know having a safe space to better understand your world will make it more manageable.

LifeSpan Counseling & Psychological Services offers services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. In therapy, I tend to take a collaborative, egalitarian approach to treatment. I am open and nonjudgmental, and I take special time to tailor treatment approaches to fit each individual therapeutic relationship. I practice from a predominately existential-phenomenological framework where individual needs, meaning-making, and pursuit of happiness are emphasized. I also incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and attachment theory as needed.

It is the desire of every human being to be loved and to belong. The only true thing that distinguishes us from one another is our experiences and our perspective of those experiences. Your past, the personal struggles and decisions you currently face and the conflicts between you and those you care about does not define you. What I offer is empathy, compassion, and support with a focus on creating a warm, safe and welcoming environment where you can be heard and understood without judgment.

It can be truly difficult to acknowledge you need help and seek that help out. Thank you for taking the first step in the path to healing! I provide therapy utilizing a relational, collaborative, person-centered approach. The fundamental basis of any relationship is centered on trust. I model this by strengthening rapport and creating a comfortable, non-judgmental space for you to explore thoughts, feelings and address your reasons for coming to therapy. I believe my role as a therapist is to guide my client(s) as they navigate through life stressors, reprocess distressing experiences, and increase self-awareness.

If you are in search of a compassionate and versatile therapist, I would be honored to partner with you.
Navigating life is challenging, and sometimes we could use a little help becoming the best versions of ourselves. Sometimes we struggle with depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, stress, racial identity, feeling stuck, and traumatic situations. But, you do not have to work through it alone; it all happens to be my area of expertise. I help adults and couples overcome those obstacles and transform their lives. My 18-year career has been devoted to supporting and empowering others, especially BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) clients.

Specialties: Immigration / Assimilation, Women’s Issues, Couples Sexuality, Chronic Illness, Anxiety, Depression, Children & Adolescents (behavior issues, attention issues, divorce), Life Transitions.
My ideal in therapy is to be able to set a comfortable environment in which growth can be achieved. I truly believe that a person can overcome and achieve anything that they set their mind to. I like to set an environment in which working together with the client goals can be turned into reality. I do not believe that there is a problem that is too big or small that cannot be tackled with the help of a supportive and motivating environment. Originally I am from Lithuanian that leads me to having a special interest in immigration/assimilation concerns. I have experience working with children, adolescence, and adults.

I’m also here to help individuals and couples navigate cultural adjustments, leadership and other work-related issues, interpersonal conflicts, separation, loss, perinatal and postnatal transitions, and parenting challenges.
Feeling like something terrible is about to happen and there is nothing you can do about it... Feeling overwhelmed with anger and frustration, and constantly misunderstood... Or wishing that you didn't have to get out of bed, that your day didn't have to start... For those of you who relate, who feel isolated, lonely, helpless, and confused, I invite you to think of therapy as a self-discovery journey that can give meaning to your struggle. And while this step requires courage and tenacity, it can lead you to a rewarding path, a newly acquired self-knowledge and a dramatic sense of revelation...

I specialize in working with individuals, as well as relationships and couples, on numerous challenges: everything from depression, anxiety, and communication, to trauma, self-esteem, grief, attachment, and sex therapy.
If you're here, you're probably looking for a change. Whether it's in your relationships, patterns, thoughts, feelings, or something else that's important to you. Life is full of challenges, but I firmly believe that people have fundamental inner-strengths that can help them cope. As a therapist, I warmly accept my clients as they are, and work alongside them to explore who they would like to become. I believe in the power of human connection, and strive to use that connection to help empower my clients to access their strengths; to ultimately bring about meaningful change, healing, growth, and understanding.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
