What gets in the way of achieving this connection? Negative cycles and unprocessed trauma. Negative cycles take over our important relationships and unprocessed trauma can make close connection feel threatening.

I work with people who are struggling to find their balance at this time. It is difficult to try to find traction in life, and struggle in your journey. My specialty is working with individuals and couples living with chronic illness and/or pain, depression, anxiety, and addiction. I think relationships can be a great source of happiness or pain. What makes the difference which direction a relationship goes is highly dependent on how well you are able to communicate around important issues that surface in your relationship. Much of the time, strong emotions surface and interrupt quality communication. When individuals learn to manage and understand emotional reactions, difficult relationships can often take a quick turn for the better. Maybe our needs are not being met by our partner, our young child is acting out, or our teenager is giving us grief. Relationships improve when using the right tools.
