I enjoy working with couples, individuals and families of diverse cultural backgrounds. I believe that most people experience challenging circumstances at one time or another in their lives and can benefit from having a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate place in which to explore issues and solutions to problems. By using a collaborative approach that is respectful of clients' values, I help clients develop a more positive perspective of their lives which enables them to discover solutions and develop new strategies for dealing with their problems. I use a client-centered approach, tailoring the counseling to meet the clients' needs.
I have post-graduate training in marriage and family therapy. In addition, I have experience helping people cope with trauma, domestic violence, cultural adjustment, spiritual issues, depression, low self-esteem and anxiety. I am also trained to provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Re-processing) for treating trauma and other issues.
I believe that all people have the capacity to make positive change in their lives if they are willing to take the time and effort to do so, and if they have a supportive environment in which to grow. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
