I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience treating addictions, anxiety, obsessive thinking, depression, communication/ relationship issues, and life phase struggles. As a counselor, I am privileged to be able to share in my clients' journeys and to help them overcome difficulties. 20 years of practice have shown me that when faced with overwhelming struggles we must first acknowledge their existence, and only then can we reach for the help necessary to find achievable solutions. As an LPC with 20+ yrs of experience, I feel honored to be able to work with many different clients during what is often a vulnerable time. I like to work with children. My ideal client is 4-10 years old. Children tell you what irks them through play and they are much less complicated than adults. I like to provide them with a holding environment in which they feel safe. I like to offer them back their feelings articulated and watch the look of recognition and thrill on their faces. I am also particularly interested in working with Arab American families: with mothers and their children. I speak Arabic and I think there is much need for mental health counseling in this community.
