Our work will focus on your relationship with yourself as well as your relationships with others and your world.
I believe that people are the experts in their own lives and that each of us has a natural capacity to heal and grow. But life can be stressful and difficult to navigate. We all need support sometimes. Therapy provides a safe space for all parts of you to be seen, heard, understood and supported so that you can connect with your own inner wisdom and experience true transformation and healing. It's a deep privilege for me to be part of that process.

As a couple who no longer can communicate or connect, you often find yourself wondering how did this relationship get to this point. You are hurt, lonely, and more importantly scared of what is next. Every conversation ends up in a fight and more disconnect and confusion follows, bringing a sense of hopelessness and frustration. You both may still love each other and feel really bad for where you are, but nothing seems to work anymore. You never imagined your relationship to look like this, both of you are smart, hard-working, kind and caring individuals - where did this go wrong?

Therapy can be a great way to work through issues you might be having in your own life, in your relationship, or in your family. We are constantly affected by those closest (and sometimes farthest!) from us. These relationships can be helpful, harmful, or somewhere in between. Finding your way in the context of these relationships can help bring a sense of contentment to your life. I provide a supportive and respectful environment where you can do this important work.

You will benefit from having a coach who also understands medication, the gut-brain connection, relationship challenges–someone who can help you implement life-changing habits and strategies.
Whether you know you have AD/HD, or you think you might have it, what you know for sure is that it just shouldn't be this hard. You have trouble beginning projects, staying on task, and completing things. You feel overwhelmed at work, at home, or in both places. You know you are intelligent, you even have expertise in your field of work, but you constantly feel like you are not working at your full potential, and you live with a nagging inner critic. You want to learn tools and strategies that will help you overcome challenges, take better care of yourself, be less stressed and happier with yourself and in relationships.

I have been working with young students and their families for over 30 years. Throughout this time I have gained a great deal of insight into the significance the family plays in the development of each child. Today's families are often experiencing a great deal of stress. In many cases parents are caught between raising their children while caring for their parents. Communication is the essential glue that holds our families together. In my office I offer a warm and caring environment to foster family growth and healthy family dynamics.

I have spent much of my own life exploring myself through a holistic lens, an approach I continuously and compassionately use when working with and relating to my clients. I have found intentional work surrounding nutrition, sleep, mindfulness, movement, relationships, fulfillment, joy and purpose, and other factors in addition to psychotherapeutic modalities have been able to address and understand the impact of mental health on all areas of our lives. I'm incredibly passionate about working with adolescents and adults to challenge thoughts and behaviors that aren't serving them.

My practice serves individuals who are struggling with various issues such as relationships, self-esteem, drugs and alcohol bullying, anger management, grief and loss and other mental health hurdles. I help clients who feel that their life is spiraling out of control, gain self discipline, and develop coping strategies, which ultimately leads them to inner peace. As a young teen, I know it must be difficult handling bullying whether it is online or in person. It is crucial providing a safe place to discuss sensitive matters and that is why we are conducting weekly groups for teens so that they know that they are not alone.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
