Hello and Welcome! I am Lorinda Sanders and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Idaho and Oregon. I've been in practice 25 years. I graduated from Walla Walla University with a Master in Social Work in 2000. My experience includes working with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, career challenges, LGBTQ, relational conflict, grief and loss, and adjustment/transitional challenges. I use a number of therapeutic techniques including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, ACT, Trauma Informed Care, Mindfulness and strengths based techniques. NEW PERSPECTIVES CENTER for Counseling and Therapy, LLC is an outpatient behavioral health facility with a multi-disciplinary team of therapists and psychiatric nurse practioners who provide comprehensive services to CHILDREN,ADOLESCENTS,ADULTS, and SENIORS. Working in an atmosphere of safety and acceptance, individuals, couples, families and groups are encouraged to explore and confront the issues affecting their lives. We are licensed by the state of Oregon for both mental health and addiction services. We are covered by most insurance plans and have therapists/nurses on most managed care panels.

Living in a society that is both sexually repressed and obsessed with sex is confusing at the best of times. Overwhelmingly we weren’t offered the correct information about our natural urges or bodies, and we are sometimes even shamed for asking. This can often result in low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, and isolation. I can help you navigate in improving your courage, mastery, and gaining healthier boundaries (that you are worthy of!) in order to be your most genuine self. We will work together at your pace in order to identify strengths and barriers and to gain confidence in making life choices and transitions.

I have worked with varied populations throughout Louisiana and Oregon; most often with male & female adults, couples, adolescents, and children ages 7-11. I have addressed multiple varied needs including sexual dysfunction, gang activity, drug use, domestic violence, PTSD, personality, mood disorders as well as relationship issues. **Education: I have a bachelor's degree (4 years) in Psychology (Oregon State University, Corvallis). I also have (one year) education (Holy Cross College, New Orleans, Louisiana) in Marriage and Family Therapy. I acquired a master's degree in Social Work (3 year master's program) from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.

I offer therapy services for individuals, couples, and families, and see clients between the ages of 14 and 40 years old. I approach counseling through the understanding that individuals are a product of their environmental contexts and may equally influence those contexts. I also believe that we do not exist in a stagnant and unchanging world, and are continuously evolving as individuals, which shapes my scope of practice. I focus on working with clients towards empowerment and identifying behavioral, cognitive, and emotional patterns that may no longer serve their best interests.
