My name is Joe Humphries. I am an LPCC and have been practicing in the Youngstown area for the past 18 years. I work with all ages and can help you address problems with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, adjustment problems, and grief. Other areas of focus in my practice include: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, parenting skills training, anger management, behavior management, and Attention Deficit Disorder.

This allows me to work in collaboration with my clients, as I believe they are the experts of their lives. I am a very seasoned therapist, wisdom through the learning and training and experiences I have created. I am trained in both evidenced therapies of EMDR I and II and Prolonged Exposure Therapy as well as Cognitive Processing for Insomnia. My early training is combining psychodynamic therapy and existential roots to look at the entire person and work with you from where you are and where you would like help getting. I had much work with adolescents and families as well as couples and LGBT community. My want is to create a trusting relationship with you to foster growth.

Since I was first licensed in 1991, I have worked with a wide range of clients, in a variety of setting. My passion is helping people overcome trauma. I specialize in working with children who have experienced sexual abuse. I work with children as young as 3, through adulthood. I believe we all have the capacity to overcome and grow, given the opportunity and resources to do so.
