My role as a clinical psychologist is to help people understand and work through the challenges they face, to guide them along a path toward their own healing and recovery, and to provide support and encouragement along the way. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients to reduce and manage distress, improve meaningful relationships and quality of life, and attain their desired goals. I want to help my clients recognize and build upon their strength and resources, to feel relieved of burdens they have carried, and to feel as though someone truly cares about their journey.

I have been in the counseling profession for over 30 years. I still look forward to meeting new people who desire to change and have the courage to share their personal life with me. I believe the times we live in offer so much to so many, yet so many struggles with finding satisfaction, meaning and a sense of belonging in the world. I view the counseling process as one of collaboration with the counselor and client to identify the client’s strengths and issues to work on. I believe therapeutic relationship is the primary tool in facilitating personal growth.

I am trained in evidence based models that target emotional experiences to restructure relationships and activate healing. I assist couples by creating an environment that safely moves people towards one another allowing for new and life changing bonding experiences. With individuals, I welcome all parts of each person as they learn to befriend, understand, embrace, and lead themselves. The ideal client for my practice brings a desire to be an active participant in a problem solving/solution seeking process. As do many psychotherapists I value an eclectic approach that has pragmatic limits. Finally, I embody the role of a trusted, confidential advisor guiding you toward what you know to be true about God and about yourself.
