I love working with individuals navigating transitional periods in their lives. It can be daunting and we all need some support during these times. These are times in our lives when we need someone to be unbiased, supportive and honest while we come face to face with our past and present, in order to build a successful future. I will work collaboratively with you to identify goals and teach you skills that you can utilize, even after our time together has concluded. It takes a brave person to ask for help and I provide a safe and caring environment for individuals and couples who are ready to work at building that successful future.

I am skilled at providing many interventions that work! Both my mental health clinic experience and private practice experience have allowed me many opportunities to use various evidence based techniques with individuals, couples, and families that have been very successful in helping to achieve desired change.
Do you feel anxious or depressed? Are you experiencing life stressors, loss, conflict, change, illness or trauma? When this happens, and coping skills break down, life quickly unravels. Compassion, empathy and ability, paired with a therapist who can guide you to healing, can really help you feel better and improve your quality of life. That person is me, and I am honored to walk along with you on the path to healing. Rarely is a single approach right for healing, growth and change. Rather, I believe in an eclectic approach to ensure one's desired goals for treatment are met.

My practice focuses on working with individuals, couples, families as well as groups.
I work in a Jungian way, recognizing that we are spiritual beings on a human journey. When problems arise in our lives, we have an opportunity to more fully understand who we are and what life is asking of us. Learning the tools with which to continue on the path in a more fulfilling way is the goal of the work I will do with you: to discover new possibilities within your own reservoir of coping and problem solving skills.

My goal is not to have the answers but to partner with you through the journey of healing and discovering yourself.
Available before 2pm only- Reaching out for support can be hard, but you are not alone. Everyone has experienced their own life journey involving grief/loss, relational ruptures, parenting struggles or trauma. Sometimes this journey can leave adults in a place where it is hard to find the motivation to complete everyday tasks, manage life stress or have patience with our loved ones. This can be true for children too, which may cause them to struggle in school, have emotional outbursts or display signs of anxiety. No matter what is bringing you, your child, or family to this moment in time, I am honored to be a part of your journey.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
