Life can be challenging and quite often, unexpected, and it’s important and helpful you have someone to walk with you through whatever life may throw at you.

I have significant experience working with couples and families as well as individuals.
Hi, I’m Erin! While life can be absolutely beautiful, it can also be difficult to feel contentment and notice the joy when you are overwhelmed with anxiety, doubt, and negative beliefs about yourself. It can feel comfortable to stay stuck in a pattern that is not serving you, but I’m betting that you’re becoming more uncomfortable with staying the same than you have in the past. While working together, you will learn how to navigate difficult thoughts that promote hard feelings. You will obtain skills to self regulate and accept things outside of your control, while becoming familiar with healthy boundaries that promote balance.

Thank you for visiting my page. It can truly be a difficult and vulnerable task to engage in counseling. And fear not, I will be you every step of the way. I have a very eclectic style which aligns with many clients' needs. Is it a relationship issue, grief and loss or anxiety and depression- these concerns can truly paralyze one's ability to live life holistically and freely. You will find me to be caring, direct and sensitive, and very client centered. I have a strong listening skill, empathy towards one’s pain, and an uplifting spirit that sets me apart from other counselors.

I offer counseling services for couples, families, and individuals to help them understand the addictive cycle and to implement recovery for family members of all ages.
When addiction is present in a family, its effects are not only felt by the addict, they also have a profound impact on the entire family system. By including all family members in the recovery process, I can help the healing begin and offer support for the trauma that everyone has experienced.

You want someone who will be understanding and insightful, as well as challenging. You want someone who will be empathic and knowledgeable, with whom you can feel comfortable to talk, and know that you're speaking in confidence. I work with a wide range of challenges, including: Tension and stress, depression and mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, life changes, difficulties coping, panic, phobia, sleep problems, social phobia, and family stressors.

Over the past 24 years, I have worked with clients with a range of issues from depression and anxiety to stress and relationship changes. My clients describe me as approachable, down-to-earth and practical in my work with them. I enjoy the process of exploring what issues are causing distress and identifying together what needs to be done to resolve those issues or learn more effective ways of responding.

I believe that developing a positive relationship with clients is the most important piece of the therapeutic puzzle.
Hi! I'm Gloria Zukoski, LCSW. I have been working in the helping field for 13 years. When I began my career in the helping field, I worked with children with developmental disabilities in a school setting; then moved to a residential placement for adults with developmental disabilities. During my master’s program, I started working more with children and families impacted by mental health and found my passion. I have since had experience in community-based, residential, healthcare, school, and outpatient clinic settings. I work mostly with people ages 5-35 diagnosed with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, perinatal/women’s health issues.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
