I honor and respect the trust in the therapeutic relationship.
Consider this an invitation to begin therapy. The agenda includes an opportunity to seek change, process emotions, and reflect. It is flexible, it moves at your own pace, and it is tailored to your uniqueness. The time and date are your choosing. While I provide the guidance and navigation, the goals are mutually agreed upon. The location is my office at Midtown Mindfulness, where I humbly await your presence. In a therapy session with me, you can expect someone who will listen, engage you in the process of treatment planning, and provide direction. I pride myself in transparency, authenticity, and a commitment to ethical standards.

My goal is to meet clients where they are while building the therapeutic relationship which is key to moving forward in the process.
Do you find yourself violating your personal and/or professional integrity? Do you react to situations either with agitation, aggression or avoidance? Whether you suffer from anxiety, CPTSD, PTSD, depression or struggling with daily life stressors the symptoms can be overwhelming. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years in many different roles, as a clinician since 2016. "For real change to take place, the body needs to learn that the danger has passed and to live in the reality of the moment" Bessel van der Kolk

I have a straight forward and authentic approach to the therapeutic relationship.
I come with a lot of compassion over the difficult process of attending therapy. Life is a wild ride with so many different variables. Most of us need an external person outside of our system to help us along the way and for different transitions in life. If you find yourself overwhelmed by life, a situation, marital conflict/separation, a person, a job, or maybe anxiety/depression then therapy might be a great option for you.

I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families from all demographics create positive change within their lives.
Asking for help can be one of the most difficult things to do when you are struggling. As a therapist, I recognize the strength it takes to be vulnerable and explore the parts of yourself that you may perceive as the scariest. My hope is that my clients are willing to allow me to sit with them as they explore their thoughts, emotions and behaviors and work towards creating a healthier, happier life.

I find that we as humans are often held back by anxiety, insecurity, or feelings of inadequacy that tend to surface in our relationships with others. Often we live our lives based on what we imagine others expect from us rather than trusting our own instincts. Therapy can help get us in touch with our deeper instincts, which includes thoughts and feelings we may have learned to tune out in order to get by in the world. By looking inward and getting to know ourselves better, we often develop a more honest relationship with ourselves and others, and are better able to reach our individual potential.

I help individuals and couples learn to change the way they think about problems to create healthier, happier lives. We'll work on replacing distorted, negative beliefs that may be hampering your personal growth and relationships. Learning about your attachment style can also help you understand your emotional needs in relationship and why you and your partner can feel so out of sync at times.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
