My experience encompasses the successful treatment of a wide range of mental health issues, including: anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, bipolar disorder, grief, and relationship issues including infidelity. My goal is to build a safe connection with my clients. Within our therapeutic relationship, clients are enabled to honestly assess themselves and their circumstances, charting a path to healing- a re-integration of mind, body, soul, environment/community.

All of my vocational career has been spent caring for the family system from kids and youth to couples and parents. My passion is to helping teens navigate their world that is ever evolving, provide support to emerging adults as they grow in their independence, and support couples to become the healthiest version of themselves. With a background in ministry, I love to help those who suffered from religious trauma and help them figure out their way forward.

Utilizing a non-judgemental and collaborative approach I work with clients to increase self awareness, identify and express emotions, and seek out change in order to build a more positive relationship with themselves and those around them. Using a Relational approach I help clients process patterns of relationships throughout their lives while seeking out positive support systems to help them cope with feelings of depression, anxiety, trauma or relational issues.

In a word, my approach to therapy is relational. I am at my best when I am centered, curious and genuinely engaged in my client's experience... exploring, nuancing and understanding their unique perspective and the struggles they are facing. I believe in the importance of finding the right "fit" between client and therapist and it is for that reason that I strive to be authentic and fully engaged in every session. For 20 years I specialized in divorce issues, both in families with high amounts of conflict and custody disagreements and provide support during this difficult transition. In addition, I have a strong background in Attachment, and I specialize in Attachment issues in children and adults and address the various challenges clients face in their current relationships. I use EMDR when appropriate and myriad Neuropsychological interventions.

Rachel’s goal in therapy is to provide clients with a strong, stable sense of self and the confidence to live more honestly in relationship with others. As a therapist, Rachel draws heavily on her psychoanalytic training, helping clients access unconscious thoughts that may be affecting day to day life and relationships with the belief that insight itself can be liberating. Rachel’s approach extends beyond the psychoanalytic and is integrative, pulling from behavioralist models as well as family systems and attachment theory when and where appropriate. Rachel works primarily with adolescents, adults, and couples.

Welcome to my profile. Finding the "RIGHT" therapist can feel like a real challenge for most people. I am a Holistic Psychotherapist in private practice since 1986. My healing approach is dependent on the needs of each individual client. The areas of special interest to me are spirituality, relationship and self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, addictions and co-dependency, loss and grief, trauma, dissociation, (not necessarily in that order).
