I have earned my Masters in Social Work from Rhode Island College, as well as Bachelors from URI in Human Development and Family Studies, and Associates in Applied Science. I love helping people heal, develop and create healthier relationships. My passion is to facilitate transformational change that results in greater inner peace, healthy self love and joy in life and relationships. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor I enjoy helping clients address underlying causes to symptoms like depression and anxiety. I am certified to do Neurotransmitter testing through Neuro Science and I work Holistically with an emphasis on Integrative and Functional care that focuses on the whole Being and helping clients to function optimally beyond just symptom relief.

I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field in a variety of settings (private practice, community mental health, university counseling center, state hospital, and in-home services). My services include individual, family, and couples/marital therapy. I primarily work with adults and couples. I believe that disturbances of thought, feeling, and behavior are caused by ‘obstacles’ to healthy brain functioning. My role as a therapist is to remove the obstacles that stand in the way of you having 100% of your intellect, wisdom, passion, humor, curiosity, energy, logic, creativity, and joyfulness available to you!

If you feel stuck, confused, locked in the same "dance" in your thoughts, behavior, and relationships, I will help you with the untangling. We will work together to find patterns, solve problems, and develop resilience and self-awareness. I work with individuals, families, and couples, and particularly enjoy young children and adolescents. I am particularly interesting in working with Gifted children and their parents...doing assessments, determining strengths and weaknesses, and helping families with the special opportunities involved. I also specialize in Couples work, using techniques that are evidence based and effective. I provide private Gifted Testing and ADHD, Learning Differences, and Memory Screening evaluations.

I have been a practicing psychotherapist for over thirty years. My practice consists primarily of individuals (adults and adolescents) dealing with depression, anxiety, loss and low self-esteem. I also work with couples and families struggling with relationship and transition issues.

My practice is limited, as I'm a full time Psychology Professor and Department Chair at a Florida State College. I have over two decades of experience providing psychotherapy and relationship counseling. My clients tell me the hardest thing about reaching out for help is not knowing where to start or who to call.
