I have been a practicing psychotherapist for over thirty years. My practice consists primarily of individuals (adults and adolescents) dealing with depression, anxiety, loss and low self-esteem. I also work with couples and families struggling with relationship and transition issues.
Successful therapy helps the client identify, understand and modify non-productive patterns which are painful and self-defeating. I view a strong therapist-client relationship as critical to this endeavor as only in a safe, nurturing setting can one person be transparent with another.
As in many fields, a good therapist is seasoned by time and experience. Through the years, I have learned a great deal from my clients. I have a clearer picture of the client's inner world and an enhanced ability to connect with that world.
