I work with individuals and families that are struggling with mental health issues, . I work with adults with a combination of mental health, addiction and trauma related issues. Changes and uncertainty in life can feel overwhelming, frustrating and chaotic. Chaos can bring a state of panic, depression, frustration, and the desire to shut down from your life. I collaborate with patients/families to bring peace and calm during the storm. I am here to support you in gaining control and providing support to you making positive decisions during overwhelming times.

I believe we each have within us the ability to heal. Sometimes we need help in grappling with whatever is getting in the way of our leading a meaningful life. I am here to help you do just that. I work with children, teens and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, chronic pain, relationship issues and grief, to name a few. I also enjoy working with couples. I have significant experience working with people who have been sexually abused. I am compassionate and straight-forward. I'm very comfortable with children and teens, but also love to work with adults.

As a therapist, I feel strongly that adolescents, children and their parents, can overcome obstacles and increase life satisfaction not only as individuals but also as families. Did you know that the most important part of communication is INVISIBLE! It’s more than words, gestures, and tone. It's called “mentalizing.” Mentalizing is a genetic brain network used for making sense of what people say--It helps us understand the mental states of others and thus, know how they might respond to us. Genetic variations in this brain network can lead to great skill or mild to severe difficulties in communication effectiveness. A person can have average to superior intelligence and still have difficulty understanding the mental states of others. Connection with others may be difficult to establish or preserve.

After developing and running the Track III Program at Hall Brooke Hospital in Westport, Ct in the early 90's, I went on staff at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Ct to further hone my craft at treating individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, bi-polar, eating disorders, self esteem issues, schizophrenia, etc... For the past decade I have brought my keen ability to accurately and quickly diagnose symptoms to my private practice in Stamford, Ct, where I treat adolescents, teens and adults suffering from a multitude of issues.

I am a Marriage & Family Therapist located in a comfortable, professional mid-city setting.
