We all long for happiness, purpose, meaning, and community, but few of us believe we deserve it. We hide parts of ourselves out of fear of rejection and go through the world not feeling seen. In our work together, we will discover the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that prevent you from creating the future and relationships you want. I work with adolescents (10 years old to 12 years old), teens, adults, and couples.

Do you feel like you keep attracting unhealthy romantic partners? In relationships do you find yourself often people pleasing and putting your needs second? Sometimes even when we think we are breaking this pattern we end up in the same type of relationship. Often this is due to how we have learned to cope with past traumatic or unhealthy relationships. Together we will help you understand your past and heal from hurtful experiences, so you no longer feel stuck in this cycle. You will learn to better understand your relationship triggers and seek relationships where you feel loved, seen, and cared for.

Are you feeling stuck, anxious, or overall a lack of life satisfaction? You are not alone. As a therapist, I encourage my clients to discover their own wholeness. I guide adolescents, young adults, adults, parents, and couples in achieving their fullest potential that already exists within. One of the main results of experiential and Gestalt is going from talking about what you are struggling with to actually feeling and moving through what you are seeking counseling for in your life. We will get to the deeper layers that aren't accessible through mainstream therapy. You have the power to get to a better way of living and being.

I invite you to reach out if you think we might be a good fit to work together for individual, couples or group therapy.
It’s nice to find someone you feel like you can be yourself around. I bring with me a sense of humor, warmth and authenticity that fosters connection and trust, especially important for those who are skeptical, or unsure about seeking help. Through this trusting relationship, my clients are better able to access self-compassion and more awareness of patterns that have kept them from achieving contentment, freedom and joy. My clients often struggle with anxiety, depression, shame, anger, low self-esteem, difficulty forming or maintaining relationships, lack of emotional expression or difficulty managing big emotions.

I am here to help support you through this process of healing by creating a safe warm relationship so you feel comfortable in therapy and feel safe enough to heal.
I have 15 years of experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships. I believe everyone already has the wisdom inside to heal but sometimes layers of trauma or pain can make it difficult to do so and often causing symptoms such as anxiety and depression. I work with you to process traumas that can block the feeling of safety, content and happiness inside. I am trained in EMDR (an evidence based trauma therapy tool) that is used to process and heal traumas so that the system can rest and no longer has to fight to protect against the pain, fear, and emotions.

Differing communication styles are often the source of confusion, frustration, and overwhelm in relationships. They can create the same conflicts over and over again, whether with a partner, family member, or friend. I work with couples and individuals who are highly motivated to improve their relationships, and still really struggle to understand the other’s needs, boundaries, and desires. Together, we will identify and slow down the spots where communication breaks down, and make space for you to reconnect in new ways.

I believe that your story, your pain, your difficulties and your joys all contribute to your unique self. We live in a world that would otherwise wish us to be more or less the same in order for the world to remain comfortable. What I believe my mission is, is to help you be more comfortable with YOU, your feelings, and with your story so that you may feel ALIVE. And that when you come alive, the world benefits from that gift. My work primarily focuses on the needs specific to women (though not limited), transitional phases of life, relationship issues, young adults and teenagers. We will laugh as much as we may cry. That is living.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
