I work with individuals, couples, and families in a dynamic, related, and grounded style. My work is about supporting my clients in learning how to relieve their own suffering, relate to others more effectively and efficiently, and living the life they want to live. Much of this work is around transitions in life: puberty, education, individuation, relationships, work, self-identification, and grief. My work with couples and families is grounded in the Psychobilogical Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) and I am a Level II certified PACT therapist. I work with adolescents, adults, all genders, races, sexual orientations, and spiritual beliefs.

My practice is currently full and I am waitlisting future clients for Skype and phone only. After 28 years in practice, I still witness the power of "the talking cure". When we talk in therapy, we come to know ourselves intimately and are able to discover what is at the root of painful thoughts, feelings and actions. Feeling seen, heard, understood and accepted is key to restoring hope as well as alleviating pain and suffering. Deep and abiding change occurs because an authentic relationship with a caring and skilled therapist allows for exploration of painful, scary and difficult feelings.

Relationships are an important part of the foundation of our lives, both the relationship we have with ourselves, and the relationship we have with others. The relationship we have with ourselves can be challenged by internal conflict, feelings of being stuck, and fears that stops us, causing our lives to be unsatisfying. Since we 'live' in all 3 time periods, the past, present, and future, we want to make sure that our past 'stories' are not interfering in our present lives. And then by understanding what our fears are, we can have a better view of the future. Overall, we can become more present. Secondly, the relationship we have with others is influenced by how we're doing, so getting our own 'house' in order will help us be better in relationship! We can experience less defensiveness and more openness. Counseling is an unique opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and others. It's an opportunity to pay attention to parts of ourselves that we try to ignore. It's also an opportunity to have the life that you want and deserve.
