As a culture, we are taught to suppress our emotions. We would do anything and everything to distract ourselves as opposed to diving in. I’m a firm believer that our bodies hold our emotions, experiences and traumas. If we turn within, we can find the resources to deal with any problem and we can create a life of satisfaction, love and joy. I am a Licensed psychotherapist that sees individuals and couples via telehealth in California, New Jersey and Florida. I am the founder of a CA based Group Psychotherapy Practice called The Feeling Space (www.thefeelingspace.me / 424 274 0518). Check out some of my colleagues below:

Many of us are struggling to get through the days as we deal with the stress of balancing complicated thoughts and feelings about identity, relationships, and coping with the constant pressures of living in our current situation. Whether it is the weight of the pandemic, the state of our society, personal and relational struggles, or all of the above, I would be honored to walk with you as a supportive, consistent, and helpful companion and guide in your journey towards healing and strength. I view the therapeutic relationship as an equal partnership as we work together towards the fulfillment of your personal and relational goals.

Couples and individuals of all backgrounds, races and genders welcome.
Find Your Center: Many of us today feel disconnected. Our days are filled with a steady stream of obligations and desires. We call that: ‘life.’ Directing our unique path in a proactive way can bring new meaning to our lives. Collaboratively, we'll find a path that leads to your truest self and to the person you want to become. Building Relationships: Cultivating intimacy with others requires developing intimacy with oneself. With compassion and guidance it is possible to learn to love oneself and, in turn, love others more deeply.

Wellness matters in obtaining a higher quality of life. Daily stressors and emotions impact our well-being and ability to grow. By using the mindful approach, we can process the emotions and traumas that are stuck in the body through aches, anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and triggers. We can work on increasing intimacy, respect, and affection in a relationship. I am a bilingual speaking (Croatian/English) marriage and family therapist and I work with individuals, couples, youths, adults, and families of all ethnic backgrounds, religions, and sexual orientations.

My areas of expertise include PTSD + complex trauma, grief, relationships (whether it's the relationship you have with yourself or with the people in your orbit), intimate partner violence and individuals with foster/adoption history.
Do you have a difficult time imagining what safety looks like? Do you feel like there's a disconnect that keeps you from the truest parts of yourself? If you've found your way here, it's likely because you're carrying a burden that's become too heavy to bear alone. Trauma, grief, and attachment wounds are not just about the past - it shows up in your body, in the relationships that you have with yourself and others, and shapes the lens in which you view the world. Here, you'll find a safe space to untangle the complexities of your experiences so that you can focus on rebuilding the sense of control and peace you deserve.

I love working with couples, and welcome them with a nonjudgmental environment that is blame and shame free.
So many of us are misunderstood, feel the need to hide our authentic selves, or are unsure of who we even are. Old beliefs keep us stuck and afraid to live the life we desire to live. My passion is ignited when I can bridge the gap between the old stories we tell ourselves and the new ones we write together. Bring me your old stories and beliefs. I welcome all of them. Let's explore where they come from and decide what you want to keep and what no longer serves you. I create a safe holding environment through radical presence and non-judgment. I am collaborative and I trust my clients to know themselves in ways I never could.

People come to therapy for different reasons. You may feel frustrated that you'll never find the right relationship, feel overwhelmed with anxiety or feel like you can't stop beating yourself up for past mistakes. You may be constantly comparing yourself to other people and feel like everyone else has things more figured out than you. You may feel disconnected and unhappy, but just not exactly sure why or what to do about it. Therapy is a way to deepen understanding and move towards healing, self-acceptance and a greater sense of well-being.

My goal is to establish a relationship of empathy, understanding, authenticity, and collaboration.
It can be painful to struggle with issues and wish that they might somehow disappear. I understand how these issues can sometimes make you feel your life is stuck and that they can prevent you from living or enjoying your life more fully. I also know how difficult it can be to seek help or talk about these issues. This is why it is my approach to get to know each client and find an individualized and unique path to addressing the issues that are preventing them from creating a greater sense of well-being and happiness.

I am passionate about helping people build a healthy relationship with themselves, based upon self-care and self-compassion.
How are you faring through the Coronavirus pandemic? Are you too busy taking care of others to know the answer to that question and perhaps feeling overwhelmed? Or are your normal personal challenges exacerbated now? More anxious, or depressed, struggling more with food and body issues... I am here to help now and when the crisis subsides and we are able to return to normal life. I offer telehealth so we can speak from the comfort of your home and when the virus passes you would have the choice to continue that way or meet in person.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
