My name is Stella Petros. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Los Angeles, California. I have been in practice since 2005, and I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, trauma, and related issues. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Solution-focused Therapy approaches in treatment to assist my clients in meeting their treatment objectives. My primary goal in treatment is to create greater trust and safety in the therapeutic setting so that I can facilitate the free communication and expression of thoughts and feelings.
I engage my clients to examine how their past experiences and current emotions have led them not to have the results in life they want. I work closely with my clients to raise mindful awareness and create changes in their behaviors that will lead them to experience less distress and, ultimately, a more joyful existence.
I focus on a strength-based approach to guide my clients in re-establishing an authentic relationship with themselves and others so that they are present lovingly and mindfully in the life they envision.
