Sessions are designed for individuals & couples who want more, held virtually for safety and easy scheduling.
When is enough enough? Life is a constant process of managing work, family, friendships, partnerships, parenting, a household; the list never ends. Every year you might think it's going to be better, less stress, more fun; and then it's back to the same draining routines. If you feel tired of wishing things in your life were different and finding yourself stuck in patterns and relationships that don't feel good, something has to change. Starting now might feel like too much, but, we know there's never the "perfect" time and waiting will set you back another year. Everyone deserves to feel whole.

Do you and your partner suffer from communication problems? Did one of you have an affair and you are wondering if you can rebuild your relationship? Do you long for the days when you felt loved by your partner instead of lonely and in pain? Relationship stress takes a huge toll on your daily life. It can make it impossible to function at work, parent your kids and just get through your day. Studies show that a toxic relationship can even negatively impact your physical health. If any of these difficulties sound familiar, you are not alone. We all need to feel safe with our partner in order to be our best selves in relationship.

In addition to individual therapy, I am currently specializing in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
Unique to my practice is my ability to mirror your innate wisdom. With this relational focus, whether you are coming in for individual or couples therapy, you'll begin to work through issues, and increase your confidence while doing so. I hold a safe space that is conducive to exploring those scary and sometimes dark places that we fear, like broken heartedness, and come out the other side with tenderness, wisdom, & contentment.

I believe our relational experiences significantly impact our health and wellbeing, including the therapeutic relationship. When we feel less alone in our experiences of pain and distress, we can more easily connect to ourselves and others in a way that supports individual and collective health. Within a safe space, and through an attuned relationship with ourselves and others, we all have the power to tune into our instinct towards healing. I am passionate about walking beside my clients, undoing their aloneness, and have a strong sense of justice, advocating with passion for my clients.

It is my belief that the client/therapist relationship is one of the most important aspects when it comes to successful therapy, so give me call and we will figure out together if we are the right fit.
We are living in a world of unknowns creating more stress and anxiety than ever before. I am here to work with anyone that desires to face their problems together. We will sort out life's circumstances, set personal therapeutic goals, and move in the direction of health. We were never meant to face life's trials and tribulations alone because we are better when we work together. Now offering telehealth and in-person sessions, making connection more convenient than ever.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
