I believe that the therapy relationship can be a healing relationship.
Lacking direction and purpose, questioning your choices, waking up in the middle of the night thinking of all the things to do? Life, and all the transitions in it, has a way of bringing us to the edge of our capacity, and letting us lose our sense of self. Therapy can help you rework your potential and get to the place that you want to be.

At the same time, I also work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety and relationship issues and the impact they have on their everyday lives.

My focus is on helping you maintain a sense of well-being and normalcy in the face of unique and often distressing circumstances. I work with patients with a variety of health issues including: cancer, infertility, cardiac disease and women's health, including postpartum depression. Through my focus on women's health I also help mom's adjust to ups and downs of parenting.

Are you and your partner struggling to communicate? Have you lost that spark in your relationship? Are you a parent who has lost connection with your teenager or child? Do you feel lost and overwhelmed? I decided to be a couple and family therapist because I know how hard relationships can be and that sometimes we need a little help. There is no shame in asking for help. We are all imperfect and are not born with a roadmap on how to navigate troubled relationships and family. I believe all people are capable of meaningful and transformational change. Let me help.

Using EMDR & other modalities, such a CBT, IFS & DBT, I work with adults, teens, and families, struggling with conflict, relationship issues, anger, depression, anxiety, divorce, violence, gender identity, family reunification, abuse, and PTSD.
Dealing with trauma and past hurts, struggling with work, relationships, or addiction, managing depression & anxiety or to better understand one's gender identity or sexuality - it isn't easy to address any of these things. I see therapy as a safe, judgment-free, shame-free, and confidential space, where you are free to vent, confide, cry, discuss, imagine, find strength, and be empowered. Most importantly, therapy is a place for hope to come alive, to learn new coping skills, to achieve personal growth, and to discover you are strong, valuable, and greater than any struggle you might have. Change is possible!

Would you like to experience a deep and radical transformation in your life? Do you believe that everything in life happens for a reason, but you're not always sure what it is? How would you like to achieve the highest expression of your soul in this lifetime? Every night our soul is speaking to us through our dreams, but often we don't know how to interpret the message. As a portal to the source of who we are, dreams guide us to our deepest healing, our highest potential, and the connections that assure us we are on the right path.

Life can feel overwhelming - at times it would be nice to take one long vacation and hope everything would be fixed when you return. Or perhaps it feels like it would be too awful to tell someone what was really going on, or what has happened in the past. Through compassionate listening, empathy, and curiosity, I help individuals reclaim strength and healing.

When we experience hardship without community support, we learn to defend against emotions that would be simply too much to hold alone. I identify as a pansexual genderqueer woman and I honor therapy as a space where all of our identities are important. I work with the nervous system and show up as my real, genuine self. My clients typically come to therapy when their defenses hold them back from loving relationships or a fulfilling life.

I believe the therapeutic relationship creates a space to safely explore understanding meaning, increase our understanding in ourselves, and live a life that aligns with our values.
Making changes can be scary and starting therapy is no different. It can be stressful even thinking about talking to a stranger; however, therapy can also be exciting! I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic space and believe therapy can be a great place to begin identifying or working on your life goals.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
