I specialize in helping adults, couples, and families who are coping with challenging and complex relationships, life transitions, trauma and faith-related harm. I am a licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience in mental health and my goal is to meet the unique needs of each client. I enjoy working with clients to find clarity, repair relationships, and process trauma in order to gain better emotional, mental and spiritual health.

Utilizing a non-judgemental and collaborative approach I work with clients to increase self awareness, identify and express emotions, and seek out change in order to build a more positive relationship with themselves and those around them. Using a Relational approach I help clients process patterns of relationships throughout their lives while seeking out positive support systems to help them cope with feelings of depression, anxiety, trauma or relational issues.

My healing approach is dependent on the needs of each individual client. The areas of special interest to me are spirituality, relationship and self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, addictions and co-dependency, loss and grief, trauma, dissociation, (not necessarily in that order). I also offer group therapy, and have facilitated groups dealing with the aging process, self esteem/relationship issues, co-dependency, spirituality, grief/loss, and depression.

Combining knowledge and skills acquired through education, a decade of professional experience, and my own lived experience with trauma and recovery, my mission is to facilitate hope and wellness using humor, empathy, validation, and unconditional positive regard. I am familiar with treating a variety of populations and needs from years of work with nonprofit and community mental health agencies, but my passion truly lies with providing therapy to individuals (children through adults), couples, and families. For 20 years I specialized in divorce issues, both in families with high amounts of conflict and custody disagreements and provide support during this difficult transition. In addition, I have a strong background in Attachment, and I specialize in Attachment issues in children and adults and address the various challenges clients face in their current relationships. I use EMDR when appropriate and myriad Neuropsychological interventions.

Rachel’s approach extends beyond the psychoanalytic and is integrative, pulling from behavioralist models as well as family systems and attachment theory when and where appropriate.
