I enjoy working with adults, couples & families.
In our busy and sometimes stressful lives, self-care is imperative. Tending to our own mental health may become necessary if the struggle becomes overwhelming to manage alone. Once you've made the decision that therapy is the next step for you, finding the right neutral, compassionate, non-judgmental and empathetic therapist is of the utmost importance. My mission is to build a therapeutic alliance with you using a collaborative approach to reach your goals. The evidence-based approaches and interventions that I use are designed to assist you in further identifying and tapping into the strengths you already possess.

I support people in understanding and regulating their anxiety and trauma as well as developing and maintaining healthy communication and boundaries in both individual and couples counseling.
I view myself as both witness and teacher. I have the privilege of bearing witness to your experiences and holding space for all the emotions that accompany them. Sadness, anger, joy, fear are all welcome here. When we do the work of really trying to understand ourselves more fully, we learn how to respect ourselves and teach others to do the same. It is my desire to help you discover who you are, sort through hurts and traumas that continue to affect you in undesirable ways in the present, and learn to live in alignment with your values and priorities so that you can flourish personally and relationally.

I assist clients with helping them process through this, challenging negative thought patterns, develop coping skills, and help resolve these previous experiences or emotions affecting them. I hope to provide a different view of the things that you are looking to address or explore in order to help you move forward in life successfully based on goals that you have set forth for yourself personally and professionally.

Within my approach as a clinician, I strive to recognize individual autonomy while attempting to create an authentic and trusting relationship with which to facilitate healing and growth.
**Currently Accepting New Clients** Mental health is important now more than ever as increased solitude and stress can only heighten symptoms that are already plaguing individuals, couples, and families. It is increasingly important to take the steps necessary to maintain that health through seeking a trusting and empathetic source of support and connection.

Building a strong therapeutic relationship with you is key in creating a safe and trusting space where you can freely explore, learn, and grow.
Seeking therapy can feel daunting, but you don't have to walk alone. As a Middle Eastern therapist, I create a warm and welcoming space where you can be understood and supported on your unique journey of healing and growth. My approach to therapy is inclusive and collaborative. I believe in ditching the "one-size-fits-all" model to craft a personalized roadmap with you, while also being mindful of your cultural and spiritual background

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
