I work best with people who seek to understand themselves better and improve the overall quality of their lives and relationships. People who come to me are often unhappy and don't know why, or may have a specific concern. They may feel depressed or anxious, or a combination of both. My style of therapy helps each person find the truest expression of his or her own unique self and assists couples in building the quality of their intimate life and relationship. I find this work infinitely creative, rich and rewarding.
We all experience and express love differently. Unspoken expectations hinder understanding and cause significant problems for couples. "I shouldn't have to tell you, you should just know" is a set up for disappointment. Difficulties communicating about wishes, needs and wants are the source of frustration in many relationships.
Learning to know what you want, how to ask for it and accepting that you won't always get it matters. Cultivating an interest in understanding the needs of others helps. I truly enjoy working with couples who want to improve their relationships and are willing to work for it.
