My ideal client may or may not have an idea where his or her distress is coming from but IS motivated to make changes to alleviate that distress. Together, we will develop strategies tailored to you to help you cope with current and/or past stressors so that you may lead a more peaceful, content life. My goal with all my clients is to help them feel like the best version of themselves.

A major challenge for many individuals, couples, and families is creating and sustaining meaningful connections. Feeling connected to loved ones and friends, purposeful work, or creative endeavors is not easy. Sometimes people do not feel connected to themselves and need support in understanding their feelings and behaviors. Likewise, there are times when disconnecting from toxic relationships and activities is necessary and requires strategies and skills that are not easily acquired or encouraged by others. Stressful life transitions, traumatic events, addictive behaviors, and painful losses are concerns for many of my clients.

I entered counseling with a desire to support individuals, couples, and families along the healing journey. I utilize a Person-Centered approach via a strong therapeutic relationship on the road to transformation. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and an Ordained Minister. My goal is to support clients in the areas of phase of life changes, self-esteem building, relationship therapy, healing from trauma and abuse, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, etc.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who obtained my Master's of Arts in Counseling from John Carroll University in 2002. I have practiced in agency,forensic and private practice settings in Cleveland over the course of the past ten years. I offer therapy sessions for adolescents, adults, couples and families using Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to help clients make desired and meaningful changes in their lives by helping them identify and reach their therapeutic goals.

The people who come to see me for help get my compassion, understanding and good judgment. Often, what is required is someone to talk with, who will pay attention and listen objectively, and then communicate that understanding in a way that is helpful. I like to give my clients practical ideas that can help enhance the conduct of their lives. I also think that by talking things out with an experienced professional, my clients gain the courage to take control of their lives and make the (sometimes difficult) choices they know they need to make.

I very much enjoy working with children, teens, adults, couples and families. I specialize in working with individuals/families challenged in their relationships and choices due to a difficulty in identifying and sharing their thoughts and emotions appropriately. I enjoy assisting clients in addressing issues and/or emotions that have caused problems in one's relationships in the home, community, and/or the workplace. Those impacted by substance abuse, both individually or as a family member are also welcomed. Other areas of focus include grief recovery, anger management; faith-based; ADHD; and whatever challenges you in life.

I offer psychotherapy and psychological testing for teenagers and adults. Adults seek help for ADHD, anxiety or mood disorders. I help them find meaning, purpose, and joy as they function more fully at home and work. Also, I work with teenagers who underachieve and present behavior challenges, mood disorders and various types of anxiety. When working with teens, I also work closely with parents to help them learn how to encourage their kid's growth toward autonomy and self-direction. It is a joy to encounter parents and teenagers as they learn to cooperate, rather than to struggle against each other.

A licensed clinical counselor for 20+ years, I create an accepting welcoming safe environment for you to explore your needs and work through challenges related to life transition, loss, grief and trauma. LGBTIA+ affirming and culturally aware, I use Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches to therapy and have been trained in DBT and EMDR. I have assisted patients with all depressive and anxiety diagnoses and employ Exposure Response Prevention for those with OCD issues.
